Last modified 2018-08-16

SITES is a national coordinated infrastructure for terrestrial and limnological field research. SITES consists of nine research stations, including Svartberget. The stations are distributed all over Sweden covering the different landscapes and climatic regions, including agricultural land, forests, mountains areas, wetlands, several type of inland waters, boreal catchments, tundra ecosystems etc.

SITES is available for all researchers on equal terms, regardless of affiliation. SITES offers facilities, sampling equipment and use of data generated from installations and/or observations in the field.

The SITES initiative is funded by the Swedish Research Council and the five partner organisations, i.e. the University of Gothenburg, the Swedish Polar Research Institute, Stockholm University, Uppsala University and The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The latter also hosts and coordinates SITES.
